Channel 21: Arts, Education & Culture
The mission of Santa Barbara's Channel 21 (SBTV 21) is to serve as a televised gallery of local arts, culture and education. Channel 21 is where you can find great speakers you may have missed at UCSB or SBCC, series such as The Creative Community and Nonprofit Spotlight, and exciting events at the Marjorie Luke Theatre.
Some examples of the programs that we produce:
The Creative Community
Host David Starkey interviews members of the community involved in local arts and culture.
Healthy for Life
The Public Health Department, in collaboration with the Santa Barbara Channels TV station, produces monthly television shows on healthy living called, Healthy for Life (English) and Una Vida Saludable (Spanish).
Health education director Scott McCann, Ph.D., and project leader Rose Davis host the show in English, and health educators Fidel Villanueva and Susie Herrera host the show in Spanish. Each program focuses on a different health topic, and includes practical health tips, video clips, and interviews with local health experts.
